Web Guardian is an economical
software package that is a must-have for every kiosk
connected to the internet. Web Guardian replaces the
existing browser such as Internet Explorer, Netscape,
etc., and restricts the user's ability to "surf" outside
of the intended area. Web Guardian is like a good
padlock: simple yet secure.
What
Web Guardian Does:
Web Guardian’s function
is to restrict a user in a kiosk or self-service
environment from gaining access to web browsing and
operating system controls. Web Guardian does this by
removing all browser controls, toolbars, and shortcut
key combinations and restricts users to links made
available to them on the website presented by the kiosk.
(because Web Guardian does not restrict the user from
following hyperlinks, thought must be given in the
design of the website to disallow the following of links
to sites outside of the intended area.)
